It was the time of the first hair dryer, washing machines and toasters when the VDE mark was introduced in 1920. Today, in the year 2010, we celebrate the 90th anniversary of one of the best known and oldest safety marks in Germany and Europe.

The company history of the VDE and the VDE Testing and Certification Institute, founded in 1920 as the VDE Testing Laboratory, is as impressive as the triumphant rise of modern technology.
