Electro technical products not only have to function faultlessly and therefore be safe and immune to interference, they also shall not influence any other appliances during operation nor cause any intolerable impact on the mains network.

Tests performed at the EMC test center of the VDE Institute provide information on the suitability of products for daily use.
The VDE Institute is situated in a superbly easy-to-access location in the Rhine-Main hub and offers comprehensive services in the field of electromagnetic compatibility. You can literally drive with your product straight up into the semi anechoic chamber since the state oft art testing center offers generous space for accessing all testing areas. Equally accessible are, of course, our experts – testing and standards specialists who are available to answer any questions and perform any test.

Our activities are internationally recognized, the testing laboratory is accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. We are accredited, for example, by Federal Network Agency for Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications, Post and Railway (Bundesnetzagentur) and DATech (German Accreditation Body Technology). In the field of motor vehicles and components, we are acknowledged as an accredited laboratory by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt, KBA). Furthermore, the VDE Institute is an EU notified body for the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC.
