Comprehensive quality rating procedure IECQ / CECC for electronic components
CECC as European and IECQ as international quality rating system for electronic components are based on widely harmonized standards worked out by CENELEC resp. IEC.
Based on a performed test the VDE Institute is able to issue the CECC and IECQ mark.

The scope of the system ranges from connectors via resistors, cables and cords to micro processors and assemblies / modules.
Approval of manufacturers
On the first level an IECQ Certification Body acknowledges the quality management system and technical competence of the manufacturer. IECQ Certification Body in Germany is the VDE Testing and Certification Institute. The certificate confirms technical competence to manufacture certain products and confirms compliance with all relevant requirements of the standard ISO 9001. However, the products can not be labeled with CECC or IECQ marking yet. For this the second level of the approval process, approval of products, will be performed.
Approval of products
The procedure for the approval of products prescribes that the products to be tested must be taken from the regular manufacturing. The testing can be performed directly by the manufacturer in company of an engineer of a IECQ Certification Body (VDE Institute). The manufacturer can also assign a testing laboratory acknowledged by CECC resp. IECQ. The testing will base on the standards for components. CECC or IECQ qualification can not release from product liability. But a CECC/IECQ product certification attests the manufacturer and user a maximum possible accuracy at the range of products.
