According to the “household appliance standard” EN 60335-1 the VDE Institute offers manufacturers of plastic material the certification of their granulates, so that the processor can be sure to choose suitable materials, which will be in compliance with the new requirements of the EN 60335-1.
In addition the philosophy was revised. In the past the emphasis was placed on testing plastic material of the finished product. Now the testing of material plates is favored.
The testing process for the household appliance to be certified will be easier because VDE Institute waives the performance of the glow wire test according to EN 60335-1 if VDE certified plastics are used.
