VDE Mark

The VDE Mark for electrotechnical products including products according to the Appliance and Product Safety Act (GPSG) and Medical Product Act (MPG) indicates conformity with the VDE standards or European or internationally harmonized standards and confirms compliance with protective requirements of the applicable EC Directive(s). The VDE Mark is a symbol for electrical, mechanical, thermal, toxic, radiological and other hazards. The VDE Mark opens and ensures an easy entry to the global markets and is based on the worldwide acceptance of our testing performance and capabilities as well as on the international recognition of the VDE Certificates.

VDE GS Mark

The VDE GS Mark for technical working equipment and commodities ready for use, in the sense of the GPSG the Appliance and Product Safety Act (GPSG), optional for such products instead of VDE Mark, maximizes the consumers' acceptance of your products on the German market.

ENEC Mark of the VDE

The ENEC Mark for luminaires and related components, energy saving lamps, information technology equipment, transformers, switches for appliances, electrical controls, connectors, appliance couplers, capacitors and EMI suppression components opens and ensures an easy entry to the European markets. The procedure is a unique certification system within Europe according to European standards (EN).

VDE Cable Mark i.e. VDE Identification Thread

The VDE Cable Mark is used for cables and insulated cords, insulating tubes as well as installation conduits and ducts.
The VDE Identification Thread is taken especially for cables and insulated cords by the respective standards or as an option to the marking with the VDE Cable Mark.

VDE HARmonization Mark, i.e. Identification Thread

The VDE Mark for harmonized power cables opens and ensures an easy entry to the European markets based on the mutual recognition of the certificates within the HAR Certification Procedure according to Harmonized Documents (HD).

CECC Mark

The IECQ/CECC System as an assessment and recognition service for manufacturers and sub-contractors in the field of electronic components offers advantages like safety and reliability of a quality system especially developed for electronic components which not only implies the assessment according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000, but also the recognition of procedures and products. The VDE Institute will carry out environmental tests which may become necessary during a system assessment.
This service is charged according to extent and expense.

VDE REG.-Nr. XXXXX (VDE Registration Number)

The certification with a VDE Registration Number for the Certificate of Conformity in conjunction with factory surveillance for electrotechnical products can be offered, if the products are in compliance with the applicable clauses of the VDE standards in case there is no complete standard for this product category, or if the products must conform with additional requirements when built in the complete equipment, e. g. in case of sub-assemblies.

For cords and cables the certification by a VDE Registration Number or the respective Mark can be used if a product has some variations to a detailed specification but can be tested with reference to other existing standards. Among this group are e. g. special constructions as well as versions of non-standardized cords and cables.
This service is charged according to extent and expense.

EC Certificate of Conformity

For the entry into the European market, certain electrotechnical products need the EC Declaration of Conformity issued by a Notified Body to state that the market surveillance requirements are met in compliance with the EC Directives for safety and EMC. The VDE Testing and Certification Institute is notified under the Identification No. 0366 and offers testing and conformity attestations for the following EC Directives:

• Low-voltage Directive 2006/95/EC
• Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive 2004/108/EC
• Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC
• Machinery Directive 98/37/EC
• Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Directive (R&TTE) 1999/5/EC
• Directive to the noise emission in the environment by equipment for use outdoors 2000/14/EC

EC Declaration of Conformity and CE Marking

Together with VDE approval you automatically receive an EC Declaration of Conformity stating that the market surveillance requirements are met in compliance with the EC Directives and an example relevant to CE marking. These declarations are a precondition for the entry into the European market. This service is free of charge.

VDE Certificate and Information Test Report for Attestation of Testing
Expert tests and reports state the compliance with VDE specifications or other recognized technical regulations. This service is charged according to extent and expense.

Pre-Shipment Control

Due to random tests the distributor gains a higher safety and the opportunity to refuse the incoming products in case of safety problems.

Conformity Tests on Customers' Demand

The extent of conformity tests on customers' demand are tests agreed upon selected clauses of the standard. These tests are performed on products to assure the compliance with the given test schedule.
