Beschreibung

The International Workshop on Magnetic Particle Imaging (IWMPI) is the premier conference for all researchers, developers, manufacturers and users of this new method of medical imaging. We invite you to participate and contribute to the conference by presenting your recent research results and showcasing your developments. In March 2020, we are excited that the IWMPI will take place at the university campus in Würzburg.

For medical imaging and Würzburg, 2020 is a very special year with its 125th anniversary of the discovery of X-Rays by Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen at the Department of Physics at the University of Würzburg. His original laboratory is listed as a "Historic Site" by the European Physical Society since 2016 and is open to visitors. The IWMPI fits perfectly into the series of conferences being organized at Würzburg in all areas that were influenced by Röntgen's discovery, one of the most important being medical imaging. The celebration of the anniversary will culminate in autumn 2020 in the "Highlights der Physik", a great festival of science organized by the German Physical Society.

And I am proud to announce that I am supported by a co-chair from our medical department: Thorsten A. Bley, head of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, University Hospital Würzburg.

For this upcoming IWMPI, March 30-April 1, 2020, we expect more than 200 participants from 20 countries as well as a record number of scientific contributions to talks and posters.

We look forward to having you join us with your team at IWMPI 2020.
