GMI Summit

Following two successful events in Abu Dhabi and Yekaterinburg, the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS) is now taking place for the first time under the umbrella of the Hannover Messe. Sustainable industrial development and global adoption of Industrie 4.0 technologies will be presented and discussed on April 20th and 21st.

GMIS was founded in 2015 as an industry association and nowadays is a joint initiative of the United Arab Emirates and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). It was founded as a sort of platform to bring together manufacturers, governments, NGOs, technologists and investors, and to exploit the potential of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (aIR) to transform the manufacturing sector and support the regeneration of the global economy.

The organization of the event in April 2020 aims to promote sustainable industrial development worldwide. Under the co-chairmanship of the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the UAE and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Deutsche Messe is working to establish uniform global standards for the application of technology for the use of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in manufacturing.
