Board

The FNN Board consists of the chairman of the Forum, two vice-chairmen and a VDE Board member represented in the FNN.

The current chairman and two vice-chairmen were elected at the annual assembly of the Forum in 08.03.2018 in Berlin.

Dr.-Ing. Stefan Küppers is Managing Director of Technology and Digitalisation at Westnetz GmbH and is responsible for the planning, construction, operation, maintenance and control of power and gas networks.

Küppers studied electrical engineering at the RWTH in Aachen after completing an apprenticeship and graduating from high school. He then went on in 1996 to work for RWE.. After working in protection and control technology as a project leader, he has held several management positions in business in the power sector since 2003.

Andreas Luxa is Senior Principal Expert for Energy Transmission and Distribution Technologies at Siemens AG in the Energy Management Division. He is head of Strategic Marketing.

Luxa studied at the TU Berlin from where he holds a PhD. He started his career at Schaltwerk Berlin as a test engineer for the development of HV switchgear and HV substations. Further stations of his career were the patent department as well as various leading positions in development and sales in Germany and abroad.

Dipl.-Ing. Ludger Meier (born 1963) is employed as the authorized representative of Amprion GmbH and is responsible there for the construction and operation of the extra high-voltage network.

Meier studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen and joined RWE AG in 1989. After working as a planning engineer in the area of energy transmission for high- and extra high-voltage substations, he early assumed various management functions in technical areas.

Ansgar Hinz has been executive chairman of the VDE since 14/04/2016.

Ansgar Hinz studied general electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen before starting his career at the Reinhausen Group in Regensburg in 1994. He has held various positions including Managing Director at MESSKO GmbH and Division Manager at Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen.
