Ansgar Hinz named new CEO of VDE

Ansgar Hinz (50) has been designated as the new CEO of VDE.

He will become a member of the Management Board on April 1, 2016. Effective April 14, 2016, Hinz – former Managing Director of MESSKO GmbH – will succeed Dr. Hans Heinz Zimmer, who is retiring after serving as head of the VDE for 9 years.

Prior to his appointment as CEO of VDE, Ansgar Hinz was Managing Director of MESSKO GmbH in Oberursel, a subsidiary of Reinhausen Group, and as such responsible for the development, production and marketing of monitoring, control and automation technology for more than 15 years. Since 1994, he has held various positions in the Reinhausen Group including CSO Americas, Managing Director of the national subsidiary in Montreal, Canada, and Division Manager of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen. He studied electrical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University before he began his career at the Reinhausen Group in Regensburg.

As CEO of VDE, Hinz will head the VDE group with 1,200 employees worldwide which includes, inter alia, the VDE Testing and Certification Institute, and will lead the technical and scientific association with its 35,000 members and 1,300 companies. The new CEO’s aim is to further strengthen VDE internationally as a service and competence center for electrical and information technology.
