Currently, Saudi Arabia is gradually introducing a certification and labeling system for certain plastic products that need to be oxo-biodegradable. Now the certification obligation for phase 2 and 3 has been postponed to April 1st, 2020 for certain plastic products.
The oxo organic certification provisions extend to both goods that are introduced as a standalone product under the HS numbers specified on the SASO website and to plastic products that are used for enclosing/packaging the actual main goods to be imported solely for transportation purposes.
