These residual current circuit breakers must be integrated in the power cord connector or installed near the connector. The reason for this altered requirement for issuing the GS mark is to further improve consumer protection when using hair dryers in bathrooms.
As of 1/1/2020 (the date of issue for the GS mark certificate), the changed specifications are mandatory.
Existing GS mark certificates for hair dryers with terms beyond 12/31/2021 must be adapted accordingly or cancelled no later than by that date.
