VDE Institute has been listed as a GSO Notified Body for the issue of the G-mark in the Arab region
| VDEThe Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has adopted uniform criteria and application of the G-Mark certificate for the introduction of low-voltage products into the Arab region through its common standardization organization (Gulf Standards Organization). Since July 1, 2016 all manufacturers, importers, or distributors of low-voltage products, such as refrigerators and freezers, washing machines, hair dryers and toasters, are subject to the G-Mark labeling obligation for the gulf region. The GSO (Gulf Standards Organization) member countries are Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
The VDE Institute is entitled to carry out examinations and certifications on the basis of the G-Mark procedure and to issue the G-Mark certificate as part of its accreditation (DAkkS). The testing of the products is based on the IEC standards as well as the results of the safety relevant tests and the risk analysis prepared by the manufacturer. The subsequent certification of the products is carried out by the VDE certification body as a notified body (GSO).
With the listing as GSO Notified Body, we offer our customers a further service, who would like to import their products into the GSO member countries and need the G-mark.
