The goal of the cooperation is to further expand the status of the world's leading trade fair eMove360° as the central industry event for electric mobility in the fields of sustainable energy generation, energy storage and charging infrastructure and to establish it as a central platform for the VDE and its affiliated companies.

"Electric mobility is evolving into a mass market, which makes it all the more important to define technical standards in order to ensure the best possible safety in electrical and electronic systems", says Burkhard Holder, CEO of VDE Renewables, who has been in the business for approximately three years and has been working for decades on sustainable energy and has also supported Intersolar's international activities right from the start. "From our point of view, the eMove360° Europe is the ideal platform for this, because despite all technology-based means of connection, we consider it essential to meet regularly in person and to discuss important topics in order to further develop electric mobility. The eMove360° Europe provides this opportunity like no other event in the business. That's why we're excited to be part of it this year and in the future, as well as to contribute to its shaping in the key area battery technology, with a special connection to sustainability issues."

In addition to its own booth, VDE Renewables will also sell stand space to interested partners. The special show "Battery Recycling" powered by the VDE will be at a central position at the trade fair. In addition, VDE Renewables will hold a two-hour session on the topic "Lifecycle of Lithium-Ion Batteries" at the trade fair forum. Another key topic is the bankability of projects in this sector – an important standardization to enable banks and insurance companies to decide reliably on a consistent basis how they support and secure projects. Another particular highlight is the drafting of an executive white paper entitled "Second Life Criteria for Batteries" in an exclusive, international workshop on this topic, hosted by Ansgar Hinz, CEO of VDE Group.

Partnership strengthens core topics of “Battery” and Sustainability - and opens up new areas

"The VDE is an organization with 125 years of history and more than 100,000 experts who drive technology forward. We are very pleased that we have acquired such a renowned partner, who supports us in a very successful year when we have once again seen a 20 per cent growth in both the exhibitor’s and visitor’s section. One of the core topics of the eMove360°, the segments battery and renewable energy, will be further strengthened and an important aspect of the New Mobility will be additionally covered with the finance topic bankability. In order to make both the traffic transition (“Verkehrswende”) and the energy transition (“Energiewende”) go hand in hand, projects in this area must be financially secure. This is what we want to emphasize through the cooperation with the VDE”, says Robert Metzger, CEO of MunichExpo and organizer of the eMove360° Europe 2019, adding:" This cooperation shows once again that our trade fair concept that is based solely on the focus on e-mobility and not seeing it as a peripheral area of energy, vehicle or industrial trade fairs is the right solution."
