Ansgar Hinz (Dipl.-Ing.) has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the VDE Group since April 14, 2016. He initially joined VDE as a Board Member on April 1, 2016.

Since June 2019, Mr. Hinz has also taken over the management of the VDE Testing and Certification Institute in Offenbach within the VDE Group and from November 1, 2023 the sole management of VDE Renewables GmbH in Alzenau.

In addition, Mr. Hinz is a shareholder representative on numerous advisory boards and supervisory boards of the international VDE business units.

For more than 20 years he worked for the Reinhausen Group, a hidden champion in the field of energy and grid regulation technology worldwide. He has worked in various capacities for the Reinhausen Group since 1994, starting with the management of international marketing and the acquisition of the CSO Americas function in which he was responsible for the markets in North, Central and South America with several branch offices in the area. From 2009 to 2011, he founded and led the group’s Canadian company in Montreal. From 2010 to 2013 he built up the Reinhausen Power Distribution Division, which has in its portfolio the business areas smart grids, renewable energy and new distribution grid technologies. At the end of 2012 Mr. Hinz also took over the business unit responsible for the market segments sensor technology, automation, analytics and diagnostics at the Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen in Regensburg. In addition he served for 15 years as Managing Director of MESSKO GmbH in Oberursel, a company under the Reinhausen Group, which is involved in the development, production and marketing of monitoring, control and automation systems.

Ansgar Hinz studied Electrical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University before starting his career at the Reinhausen group in Regensburg.
