Update on COVID-19 (Coronavirus) from 2022-01-03

Dear business partners, visitors, and participants (m/f/d),

The VDE Group is committed to the fight against the Corona pandemic with several initiatives. Especially now, it is essential for the VDE Group to implement the necessary measures in accordance with the rules and in a representative manner as an exemplary company to protect employees and customers from infection with the virus. As a result of the new Infection Protection Act, the VDE has also initiated safety measures to make the time spent at VDE sites as safe as possible.

Globally, the entire VDE Group follows the effective recommendations and guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) and the health authorities by taking all necessary precautions to protect the health of our employees, visitors, participants, and business partners.

Regularly, we inform our employees about the most recent developments. Our employees are instructed to always comply with the current recommendations of the public health authorities.

For the VDE Group, "mobile working" has been implemented in most areas, and all hygiene measures are constantly reviewed and, if necessary, expanded. The focus is on infection protection and hygiene measures, which means that greater attention is paid to this everywhere, and especially where contacts are unavoidable, such as in certain work environments.

Both for your protection and for the protection of our employees, business partners, members and participants, the need to attend external appointments is being considered with special thoroughness, and travel is being kept to a minimum. To meet your wishes and needs, we offer innovative formats that enable both purely virtual and hybrid participation.

Regarding our panel or expert committee meetings, it is still the case that these are primarily held virtually/by web conference. Any exceptions will be implemented under any applicable protection and security measures.

Since November 25, 2021, VDE facilities may only be entered under one of the following conditions.

The visitors/employees are either:

- fully vaccinated

- recovered (<6 months)

- or they provide a negative antigen test proof (not older than 24h), from an officially recognized testing facility (in the following abbreviated as "negative COVID-19 antigen test").

Furthermore, please be aware that an FFP2 mask must be worn in all buildings of the VDE Group. For unavoidable presence in VDE buildings, sufficient rapid tests and FFP2 masks are available at the respective locations.

For any questions, suggestions, and comments, please do not hesitate to contact our VDE Taskforce CORONA at taskforce-corona@vde.com.

We kindly thank you for your trust and understanding. Stay healthy and we too look forward to seeing you again soon in a safer environment.
