(Frankfurt am Main, April 21, 2026) Stanley Black & Decker Deutschland GmbH and the VDE (VDE Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies) today announced a strategic partnership aimed at ensuring full compliance of AI technologies with the European Union’s Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AI Act).
As part of this collaboration, both partners will combine technical AI expertise with in-depth regulatory knowledge to ensure that AI systems are developed, deployed and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the Act. The joint initiative reinforces the commitment to responsible AI and contributes to the creation of reliable, transparent and secure AI solutions within the European Union.
Dr. Thorsten Prinz, Team Leader at VDE AI Projects & Services: “The VDE stands for safety and the highest quality. Our technology and regulatory experts support providers in developing trustworthy and compliant AI systems. We are delighted to be collaborating with SBD.”
Jürgen Titz, General Manager SBD Deutschland GmbH: “We look forward to collaborating with the VDE on the sustainable implementation of the requirements of the EU AI Act to ensure that products containing AI elements can be safely placed on the market.”
The EU AI Act establishes a uniform legal framework that promotes human-centric and trustworthy AI whilst supporting innovation across the single market. By applying a ‘compliance-by-design’ approach right from the start of the development process, providers of AI systems can keep their time and resource expenditure to a minimum.
