The ITG aims to strengthen cross-community dialogue by organizing for the first time the ITG Future Forum dedicated to interdisciplinary topics. This will be held in:
Berlin in the HHI Fraunhofer Institute on November 25th, the day after the VDE Hauptstadtforum.
This one-day event will bring together representatives from various ITG communities to discuss emerging interdisciplinary challenges and opportunities.
A key focus will be the interplay between AI and networking: Artificial Intelligence is transforming how communication networks are designed and operated, while simultaneously introducing new demands on networking infrastructures. AI enables intelligent, automated network operations, yet AI systems themselves rely on robust networking for distributed training, large-scale data exchange, and real-time inference. The vision of autonomous networking requires collaboration across domains, just as modern digital services depend on the integration of communication networks, cloud/edge infrastructures, and AI systems.
For this reason, the title of this year ITG-Forum is "AI-Powered Networks and Networking for AI Systems". The program includes community-driven workshops featuring keynotes, panel discussions, and contributed presentations, alongside networking breaks and a demo zone.
To ensure a diverse and impactful program, we will have contributions from different communities, such as:
- AI-native network architectures
- Data-driven network automation
- Edge and cloud intelligence for communication systems
- Networking challenges for AI workloads
- AI robustness, security, and trust in networks
