Why is this important?
Though hail accounts for more than 50% of insured solar project losses, this is not the only high-hazard peril that affects solar project risk and insurability. For a holistic understanding of asset-level risk exposure, natural catastrophe models must also characterize the perils associated with earthquake, wind, flood, and wildfire exposure.
Integrated natural hazard risk reports for solar projects support better-informed design, procurement, and operational decisions—helping project stakeholders improve resiliency through equipment selection and operational best practices. These risk reduction strategies can also lead to more favorable insurance terms by increasing offered capacity or reducing premiums.
Whether you're a risk manager, insurance professional, solar developer, or property owner, this hail season workshop will provide valuable insights into protecting your assets from all major catastrophic events while optimizing your insurance program costs and coverage.
