About this virtual "lunch and learn"
Who is presenting?
Brian Grenko is the CEO and president of VDE Americas. He joined the company in 2016, initially serving as its vice president and head of technical advisory services. Brian has over two decades of engineering and operations experience, mainly in the renewable energy industry. Before joining VDE, Brian was the founder and CEO of Amplify Energy, a photovoltaic engineering services firm that DNV acquired in 2016. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt.
Daniel Moghtader is the performance engineering manager at VDE Americas, specializing in advanced technical modeling of solar power systems. He develops cutting-edge methodologies for uncertainty quantification, module performance optimization, and statistically rigorous models for energy production forecasting. His work helps investors and developers make data-driven decisions for solar projects during and after the due-diligence period. Prior to joining VDE, Daniel leveraged his chemical background at NREL, where he contributed to innovative quality control systems for gigawatt-scale roll-to-roll electrolyzer manufacturing. Daniel holds a BS degree in Chemistry from Loyola Marymount University and an MS in Advanced Energy Systems Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
Matt Murphy is the co-founder and CEO of Flux Energy, a systems integrator focused on improving financial returns and extending the life cycle of solar and wind assets through redevelopment. Based in Vermont, Matt has more than two decades of renewable energy experience across a diverse set of subject matter including development, construction, and operation of solar and wind assets. His career has been defined by a “bottom-up” understanding of the industry, from the early days of designing and building solar PV divisions to overseeing operations and financial performance of a multi-gigawatt fleet. Prior to his tenure at Flux Energy, Matt served for 9 years as the COO of Greenbacker, founded the Borrego Solar O&M Division that became Clean Leaf Energy, and started the Solar division of Peck Electric, which eventually became the public company ISun.
Joshua Wirth is the founder and CEO of Daly Energy, a software company building modern solar production modeling tools to replace outdated industry standards like PVSyst. Based in San Francisco, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. Before founding Daly Energy, he built deep experience across the solar industry with roles at SolarCity, Zep Solar, Tesla, Intersect Power, and Ojjo, spanning engineering, product management, and development analysis. His work is focused on improving how solar developers and operators model energy yields and make financial decisions.
