Focus on health – innovation meets responsibility
The development of new medical devices has become a challenge, as increasingly stringent regulatory requirements are making it difficult for manufacturers to access markets, which is leading to difficulties.
A key issue is the gender data gap in medicine. VDE is committed to improving research into gender-specific differences – for a healthcare system that takes everyone into account. With a new technical committee and dedicated young professionals, we are bringing this topic to the attention of experts.
A milestone: The first AI-supported medical product, “Professor Valmed,” co-developed with VDE expertise, supports medical staff in making diagnoses – safely and based on data.
With formats such as Tec Talk Neurotechnology, the Night of Biosignals, and the planned Skills Boot Camp, we promote exchange, young talent, and innovation. And with the new Think Tank Future of Biomedical Engineering, we offer small and medium-sized businesses a platform for future technologies.
