VDE Americas' IE services support the development of large-scale solar, energy storage, and solar-plus-storage projects.

When engaged an independent engineer (IE), we work with key solar and energy storage stakeholders to ensure that large-scale photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) assets are designed, constructed, commissioned, and operated according to applicable standards and best practices. We do so by providing unbiased and expert assessment of various aspects of the project's design, construction, commissioning, and operation.

As a third-party organization with in-depth subject matter expertise, VDE Americas is uniquely qualified to verify that PV and BESS deployments can meet energy production estimates and deliver expected financial returns. We specialize in providing transaction-level due diligence related to utility-scale solar photovoltaics (PV), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid solar-plus-storage applications. We also offer portfolio-level due diligence to support the deployment of commercial and industrial (C&I) distributed generation (DG) and community solar projects.

Customers for our IE services include project developers, project ownerstax equity investors, institutional lenders, original equipment manufacturers, utilities, and corporate offtakers. We understand that customers and projects are not created alike. To maintain our focus on adding value, VDE Americas can customize the scope of its technical due diligence and quality assurance services to best serve the needs of customers and stakeholders. Our experts can validate PV and BESS power plant engineering and performance or evaluate components, construction, and commissioning. Working with VDE Americas, customers benefit from in-depth subject matter expertise and ensure the timely completion of critical project milestones.
