VDE Americas' OE services de-risk financial transactions for large-scale solar, energy storage, and solar-plus-storage assets.

When engaged as an owner's engineer (OE), we work with investors and lenders to ensure the long-term success of a clean energy venture by reviewing and validating technical feasibility, regulatory compliance, and project execution. We do so by acting a concierge-style extension of our client's deal teams to provide on-demand critical engineering analysis, oversight, and support.

As a third-party organization with in-depth subject matter expertise, VDE Americas is uniquely qualified to de-risk PV and BESS investments and ensure these deployments deliver the expected financial returns. We specialize in providing transaction-level due diligence related to utility-scale solar photovoltaics (PV), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid solar-plus-storage investments.

Typically, our due diligence scope of work involves reviewing confidential information memos (CIMs) to help clients make go/no-go decisions, providing term sheet negotiation support, and working directly with project development and independent engineering (IE) staff to ensure the project meets client expectations. Our comprehensive technical due diligence survey significantly expedites this process. This work covers the provision of reports, certificates, and other supporting materials as required for financing purposes.

Customers for our OE services include project owners, tax equity investors, lenders, project sponsors, equity investors, infrastructure funds, utilities, and corporates. We understand that all customers are not created alike and can customize our scope of work to provide maximum customer value. We pride ourselves on our responsiveness and ability to deliver against project commitments and schedules.
